PODOCON 2024 Abstract Submission

The scientific committee invites abstracts for PODOCON 2024 to be held at JN Tata Auditorium, Bengaluru, from 25th – 26th May 2024.

GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACTS

Abstracts must be submitted via this website only. Faxed or emailed abstracts will not be considered. The last date for submission of abstracts is 20th April 2024.

• Podium Presentation
• E-posters

Abstract Classification:

Case Studies and Research Papers may be submitted for:

• Case Study – A Word document file should be uploaded for submission, including images and charts, if any (max word count – 350 words); no free text is allowed. Document size should not exceed 10MB.
• Research Paper – free text, up to 350 words, to be entered in the text box provided in the submission form.

Select the abstract category as

• Surgical
• Medical
• Prosthesis, Orthosis, Non-Surgical Offloading
• Exercise Therapy

The presenting author must ensure that all co-authors are aware of the content of the abstract before submission.

Please note that the presenting author will receive all correspondence about the abstract. Hence, we advise that the presenting author’s details are correctly entered during submission.

Please select a type, classification, and category for your abstract allocation. Although the committee will work hard to honor this choice, the committee reserves the right to change the category, classification, or type under which the abstract was submitted initially in case it is deemed necessary.

The Scientific Committee and the authors will make the final evaluation and will be informed about the acceptance.

The guidelines regarding the final submission will then be emailed to the authors of the accepted abstracts.

Registration at the time of submission is not mandatory. However, once the abstract is accepted, the presenting author must register for the conference within seven days at the registration fees prevailing at that time. If the author fails to register in this time frame, the abstract will not be considered for final presentation.

• Abstract title - limited to 20 words in UPPER CASE
• Abstract text – limited to 350 words

(Please Note: Do not use any abbreviations in the abstract. Figures, tables, and graphs should not be included.)

Abstract for case studies needs to be submitted as a Word document along with compressed images.

Abstract layout for Research papers - Abstracts must be submitted with the following sections:

• Aims/Objectives
• Materials & Methods
• Results
• Discussion
• Conclusions
• Key words – limited to 8 words

Abstract layout for Case Study - Abstracts must be submitted with the following sections:

• Patient description
• Case history
• Physical examination results
• Results of pathological tests and other investigations
• Treatment plan
• Expected outcome of the treatment plan
• Actual outcome

ABSTRACT SUBMITTER’S DECLARATION

During abstract submission, you will be asked to declare the following:

• I confirm that I have previewed this abstract and that all information is correct. I accept that the content of this abstract cannot be modified or corrected after final submission.
• Submission of the abstract constitutes the consent of all authors to publication.
• I hereby confirm that the contact details saved in this system are those of the presenting author, who will be notified about the status of the abstract. The presenting author is responsible for informing the other authors about the status of the abstract.
• I understand that the presenting author must register for PODOCON 2024 within a given time frame to be eligible for final submission.
• I shall indemnify the scientific committee against any legal action by any parties on account of plagiarism complaints against the presenting/co-authors.
